Admissions requirements for the International Avans Preparatory Course:
- IELTS* overall band score of 5.0 for the full year programme (no sub-scores below 5.0)
- IELTS* overall band score of 5.5 for the half- year programme (no sub-scores below 5.5)
- Positive recommendation based on a personal interview
- At least a high school certificate, equivalent to Dutch Havo, Vwo or Mbo. Click here for more information.
Please note:
If you have an IELTS score of 5.5, we recommend you start the preparatory course in February (half year programme), so that it ties in with your continuation course. All four-year bachelor's degree programmes at Avans University of Applied Sciences start in September.
Admissions requirements for the international bachelor’s degree programmes:
- Carefully check the specific language requirements for the bachelor’s degree programme of your choice
- You must pass the International Avans Preparatory Course exam
Students with a previously obtained overall band score of 6.0 for the Academic Module of the IELTS exam do not need to attend a preparatory course. These students can start the bachelor’s degree programmes immediately.
