General information and project

The minor in International Entrepreneurship is focused around a project in which students create and run their own company: the “Student Company”. This company will operate in the same way as any other company, in an international environment. Unlike other blocks and semesters, this semester is really practice-based!

The international groups of 6-8 students will do the following (over a period of 20 weeks):

  • Decide what management team role they would like to perform within the company
  • Select a product, and convince tutors and mentors that it is a viable business idea
  • Perform market research
  • Write a business plan, which will be implemented in practice
  • Find shareholders and open a bank account
  • Run the business on a daily basis (buying, selling, promoting, managing etc.)
  • Finally, write an annual report and present the results to the shareholders
  • Liquidate the company.

The aim of the project is to ensure that the students develop specific entrepreneurial skills, as well as gaining experience and a taste of what it is like to set up and run your own company. The project is carried out in joint cooperation with “Jong Ondernemen”, an organisation that supports entrepreneurship.
