What is Global Business?
‘Becoming an entrepreneur within the globalisation and internationalisation of small and medium-sized enterprises’. The international entrepreneur is able to achieve company goals in a multicultural and international environment. This environment can be Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), United States (US), China, India, Japan (Far East), Russia and developing countries.

The course is part of the Avans Small Business and Retail Management study programme at the School of Marketing and Business Management in Breda.

The minor in Global Business will be a combination of theory and practice.

The minor lasts 20 weeks and has a study load of 30 ECTS.

Teaching is entirely in English.

Requirements for the minor in Global Business

  • The minor in Global Business is designed for students in their fourth or third year.
  • Students must have a basic understanding of international marketing.
  • Students must have a natural and profound interest in cross-cultural differences.
  • Students must be willing to read substantial amounts of academic literature.

External students must meet the following admission requirements:

  • 3rd or 4th year students studying a commercial and marketing-related course at a university of applied sciences
  • Free space in their study programme for a minor
  • Permission of the examining board of their own institution
