Daily expenses
Experience has shown that students living and studying in the Netherlands for one year spend between 700 and 1,000 euros a month (tuition fees not included). If you have an average student income you will find that one-third of it will go towards housing. Food might take another third. Fortunately, the Avans restaurants offer hot meals at reasonable prices. Breda, ’s-Hertogenbosch and Tilburg have pubs (called eetcafé’s) where you can eat decent food at low prices. But the cheapest way to eat is to do your own cooking. The remaining third of your money will go towards books, travel and other expenses.
