Avans Scholarship Programme for Best Performing Non-EEA Foreign Students
Avans University of Applied Sciences is committed to recruiting talented and excellent students. Since 1 September 2009, we offer a scholarship programme for the best performing foreign students. In the 2012-2013 academic year, € 100,000 is available for Avans scholarships with a maximum of € 3,000 each for non-EEA students on all Avans study programmes.

What are the criteria for the Avans Scholarship Programme?
s a foreign Avans student, in order to be eligible for an Avans scholarship I must meet at least the following criteria:

  1. I have paid an institutional tuition fee of € 4,500 or more for the current academic year.
  2. I have obtained at least 60 ECTS during this academic year
  3. I am only eligible to receive a maximum of two scholarships during my entire study programme at Avans University of Applied Sciences.

How do I apply for the Avans Scholarship Programme?
I do not need to apply personally for a scholarship. By enrolling as a non-EEA student for a bachelor’s or master’s study programme at Avans University of Applied Sciences I automatically apply for this programme. At the end of each academic year, the Avans Scholarships for Best Performing Foreign Students will be automatically awarded to the top-ranking eligible students. If the number of eligible students exceeds the available number of 33 scholarships, a ranking procedure will be applied to identify the best performing students, who may eventually receive a scholarship.

What is the scholarship amount?
The maximum Avans scholarship is € 3,000 per year for the best performing students who have paid the full institutional tuition fee of € 7,650 (2011-2012).

Please note: if I receive a scholarship, it will only be granted as a discount on the tuition fee for my re-enrolment in the next academic year. Avans scholarships are never paid in cash or transferred to a bank account. This does not apply if I receive a scholarship for my graduation year. Avans University of Applied Sciences will be temporarily offering this scholarship programme until 31 August 2013. At present it cannot be guaranteed that the scholarship programme will be continued after this time.

In the 2012-2013 academic year only 33 eligible students will receive a scholarship. It is therefore important that I have sufficient personal funds available to pay for my tuition fees and all my living expenses for my entire study programme in case I do not rank amongst these 33 best performing students.
