The basic principle of Avans University of Applied Sciences is rooted in and springs from its social environment. To maintain and expand its value within its environment, Avans must continue to meet the changing demands of the labour market and the world of work.
Avans University of Applied Sciences, aims to operate as a single unit consisting of:
- 19 schools
- 1 Learning and Innovation Centre
- 4 support units
Our Vision
Our vision focuses on two core issues: education and applied research.
The bachelor's programmes are the main part of Avans’ portfolio. The Executive Board is keen to increase the current market share of its bachelor's programmes. The board also wants to expand its future role in the master's programmes, contract education and applied research markets.
Top Education
Avans University of Applied Sciences has been proclaimed the best major university of applied sciences in the Netherlands by the Dutch Guide to Higher Education (Keuzegids Hoger Onderwijs). The Keuzegids also named twelve Avans study programmes as the best in their categories. Ten Avans programmes achieved second place nationwide, while six study programmes came third.
